Password – complexity and lifetime

User, Password

Written by Nina Wettergren

This guide explains how to configure password requirements and login security in Sysarb as an administrator.

Getting to the settings

Log in and click your initials in the bottom left corner. Select Settings from the menu, then go to the Security tab.

Password complexity

Here you define the requirements for user passwords. You can require that passwords:

  • contain a minimum number of characters (default is 10)

  • contain uppercase letters

  • contain lowercase letters

  • contain numbers

  • contain special characters

  • are not easy to guess

Authentication security

Under this section you configure:

  • Max failed login attempts before an account is locked

  • Password reset link expiry – how long the link in the forgot-password email remains valid (set in minutes)

  • Welcome email link expiry – how long the invitation link sent to new users remains valid (set in days)

You can also enable:

  • Prevent password reuse – users cannot choose a password they have used before

  • Password lifetime – forces users to change their password after a set number of days

BankID (Swedish employees only)

Enable Use BankID as default login for Swedish employees to allow BankID authentication. This requires that employees' personal identity numbers are registered in the system.

Additional options:

  • Copy personal identity number from employee to user – automatically fills in the required details

  • Activate BankID for all users – makes BankID the default login method across the entire system
